      When larger quantities of data need to be visualized, the available pixels are quickly exhausted. Interactive visualizations make exploration possible in such cases.
      Learning outcomes

      Performance The students know reasons why an interactive visualization might be slow. They know how to remedy these.


      Dashboard design principles The students know methods for designing dashboards like linked views, focus&context, zoom or filter. They know how to employ them effectively in their designs.


      Navigation The students know about the challenges of navigation in visualizations (context and wayfinding). They know strategies like animated transitions and breadcrumbs to facilitate navigation.
