Institute for Medical Engineering and Medical Informatics
Research and development in the innovative sphere of medicine, technology, industry and higher education.
The Institute for Medical Engineering and Medical Informatics conducts research into diagnostics in living organisms and therapeutic systems. This work focuses on patient-specific solutions and on processing, analysing and communicating medical data. In cooperation with our partners, we address problems from the field of medicine and develop innovative solutions from the initial idea through to a functional model.
We are a competent research and development partner and devise practical solutions to current problems. Our staff offer experience of industry which they channel into their teaching as well as their research.
Our infrastructure includes devices that enable us to produce complex implants from the initial idea through to the sterilised packaging, and a demo operating theatre to test intraoperative integration solutions. Mechanical and electrical workshops, state-of-the-art measurement technology, a clean room and an S2 lab also support our researchers in their work.
