Ghost Host

Playful access to agriculture, food production and food waste

GH_ScreenShot3.png

Ghost Host is a serious game for children between 8 and 12 years old, that breaks down the topics of land consumption in agriculture and food waste in a playful way and packs them into an appealing game world.

The themes are treated in a subtle and entertaining way. The game does not resemble a "typical" educational game. It conveys its message in a less obvious way, as the primary goal was to create a fun game.

The information used in the game is the actual data about space consumption in Swiss agriculture, which has been abstracted and incorporated into Ghost Host.

The land use data was provided by Foodscape. Foodscape is a project of the ZHAW and the ZHdK for the development of learning units for home economics lessons.
