The digital transformation is here – and cultural and educational institutions must also confront that reality. That’s where the Spielkultur project comes in. Together with cultural and educational institutions, Spielkultur develops games that use different educational strategies and can be configured as desired. During the project week, individuals and small groups will be tasked with developing game content on specific topics. Depending on the needs of the institution in question, the games can be made accessible to the public and thus become a tool for participatory projects. The easy-to-use software helps reduce possible fears of using digital technologies. Participants will deal with relevant topics in depth, get acquainted with storytelling principles and gain a “behind-the-screen” understanding of how games are programmed. The workshop will enable cultural institutions to be more accessible to certain target groups, jointly develop new content and get more people involved in cultural activities. It will also help people from the education field put “future-oriented learning” into practice. Art educators, teachers and other people who work with groups will not only be able to develop content themselves but also for and with other specific types of groups such as school classes, senior citizens, people with immigrant backgrounds, etc.
