Content | Students can explain the benefits of implementing an information system using a DBMS. They recognise that simplicity and accuracy are the main success factors of the relational model and that this is why many commercial database management systems are based on this model. Students can design a database application and use ER modelling for communication. They can create and query database tables and perform advanced operations using SQL. Students understand how data is indexed and how to use this knowledge for optimising database performance. In addition, students recognise the complexity of an enterprise database where concurrency and transactions have to be handled. |
