Data Science

Data is like gold dust in today’s era of information. That is why data science is fast becoming the main driving force in our digitalised society, business and industry. As part of this specialisation, you will deal with the value chain of data and prepare yourself for one of the most attractive and sought-after careers in this day and age.

Data Science is a specialisation in the Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences degree programme.

The Data Science specialisation revolves around extracting knowledge from data. You will learn how data is acquired, structured to become information and converted into knowledge.

The specialisation is taken in your last year of study and consists of five lecture modules (“Efficient Algorithms”, “Image Processing”, “Computer Graphics”, “Machine Learning” and “Information Generation and Storage”) and a “Data Science Lab” in which the latest developments are presented from a theoretical and practical perspective. However, even in the earlier semesters, some preparatory modules are offered such as “Introduction to Data Science with Python”, “Data Wrangling”, “Information Visualisation” or “Natural Language Processing”.
