BSc Computer Sciences – iCompetence study programme

The combination of computer sciences with design and management.

The bachelor's degree study programme, iCompetence, is a specialism option for the Computer Sciences degree programme. It combines computer sciences with design and management. The degree covers:

  • Well-founded computer science principles
  • Design skills for creating IT solutions
  • Management skills for understanding the field of business

On completion of iCompetence you acquire the internationally recognised FHNW Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences with a specialisation in Design and Management.

Career prospects

As a graduate, you will implement IT solutions – as a Software Engineer, Requirements Engineer, Interface Designer, Project Manager or Consultant, for example – or you might establish your own start-up.

Your workplace can be anywhere: in a bank or insurance company, in the technology development department of a service or industrial enterprise, in the environmental sector, in the healthcare sector or in public administration – whether in Switzerland or elsewhere in the world.

International Track in Computer Science

With the International Track, you complete part of your degree in English – the language of the computer science industry – thereby enabling you to improve your career prospects in a global IT environment and gain an additional diploma at the same time.
