Anne Günster is Professor of Music Education Research and is responsible for the research focus Music Education Research at the FHNW Basel Academy of Music. She studied music (major: classical singing) and English at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and the Universität zu Köln (degree: First State Examination for Teaching at Grammar Schools and Comprehensive Schools). She then worked as a research assistant in the field of music education at the Universität Hamburg from 2015 to 2020, where she completed her doctorate in 2022 with a research paper on "Wissensordnungen und Regierungspraktiken des Singens im Musikunterricht" (Waxmann, 2023, open access). From 2019 to 2024 she worked as a consultant to the rectorate and employee for university didactics and quality assurance in teaching at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
