Dr. Francesco Iannacci

Francesco completed a BSc. and MSc. in Chemical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan, followed by a PhD in Industrial Chemistry at the same university. During his doctoral studies, he focused on the establishment of intensified, recombinant-based production of a pre-microRNA using microbial perfusion bioreactors. Along with this, he was involved in the optimization of rAAV production process during his visiting period spent in the Bioprocess Technology (BPT) group at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW).
After his PhD project, Francesco rejoined the Bioprocess Technology Laboratory in June 2026. His research will primarily be dedicated to the evaluation of filtration systems for perfusion applications and the optimization of perfusion bioreactor performance.
