Under the topic "Making Things Happen: From Idea to Exhibition" Doug Fishbone will discuss his own art practice with a focus on making opportunities for oneself in the art world. He will describe specific projects, including his 2015 presentation at the Venice Biennial, from the idea stage through to execution and follow-up, to highlight relevant strategies for developing projects and give insight into some of the behind the scenes planning that goes into building a career as an exhibiting artist.

Doug Fishbone is an American artist living in London. He earned an MA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College 2003. His film and performance work is heavily influenced by the rhythms of stand-up comedy - leading one critic to call him a “stand-up conceptual artist” – and examines some of the more problematic aspects of contemporary life in an amusing and disarming way.
