The Missing Fly of Dreispitz
The Missing Fly of Dreispitz – a satirical pseudo-documentary with amateur actors, is a collaborative project between two Chilean artists: visual artist Pilar Quinteros and filmmaker Patricio Blanche.
The plot of the feature-length movie – filmed during a Dreispitz residency at Atelier Mondial from December 2020 to April 2021 – revolves around the filmmakers' search for a Chilean fly scientist in hiding, whose research in the Dreispitz neighborhood in the 1990s got out of control and caused panic throughout the neighborhoods of the Swiss city.
The film was commissioned by the Explorers Film Club, founded by Benedikt Wyss and Samuel Leuenberger together with the Christoph Merian Stiftung for the artistic exploration of the urban transformation in the Dreispitz.
An exhibition of all the film works created in the Explorers Film Club between spring 2020 and fall 2021 – including artists Deborah Joyce Holman & Yara Dulac Gisler, Uriel Orlow and Puck Verkade – will open at noon on Sunday, September 12, 2021 in the new 1.000 sqm TransBona-Halle on the Dreispitz.
The preview of The Missing Fly of Dreispitz will take place at HGK's "Studiokino", September 10 at 8pm.
