      Overview
The summer school of the various universities of applied sciences is offered as a supplementary elective module in the study programs for various faculties at Bachelor level. It is a two-week full-time program and is operated by Endress+Hauser Flowtec AG (Reinach). The focus is on operations management, starting from product industrialization, value-added planning, factory planning, process design with value stream simulation to the design of the logistical flow of goods. Every day, a special topic is taught, starting with a theoretical block in the morning, held by dedicated university professors, and followed by practical implementation in the industry, presented by experts from the Endress+Hauser Group.
      Learning objectives
      • Students can understand the entire process of industrialization of a new product
      • Students know how to design, calculate, plan and justify a production process for a given product
      • Students know how to define, plan, and calculate logistics process chains along the value chain
      • Students know the cost drivers along the value chain and can optimize them to reduce costs. They also can understand and apply the cost of goods sold Applying of knowledge and understanding:
      • Students deepen their knowledge of industrial engineering, apply their knowledge of production planning, and learn to apply the processes of supply chain management in an international production network
      • Students reflect on what they have learned in relation to factory planning through practical work on internal company projects
      • Students learn to evaluate how a specific product can be integrated into existing, established production processes and industrialized cost-effectively
      • Students will learn how to design suitable logistical processes in an international production network
      Previous knowledge
Industrial, mechanical, electrical, sensors/actuators or similar engineering basics as well as business administration
      Exam format
Continuous assessment grade, weighting 100 %
      Additional information
This module is taught in German and English. The module takes place out-side the University of Applied Sciences at a location provided by Endress and Hauser. The block module is accredited with 4 ECTS.
