New lecturer for historical harps from September 2022: Flora Papadopoulos

Flora Papadopoulos will take over the class for historical harps at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis from the autumn semester 2022/23, succeeding Heidrun Rosenzweig. We look forward to working with our new colleague!

Flora Papadopoulos comes from Athens, where she received her first lessons on the modern harp with Maria Bildea. She then completed her studies in Italy at the Conservatorio di Parma with Emanuela Degli Esposti. Since 2008 she has dedicated herself to historical harps and completed a Master's degree with Mara Galassi at the Civica Scuola di Musica "Claudio Abbado" in Milan.

She also obtained a BA at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Parma (Conservation of Musical Heritage) and an MA at the Sorbonne in Paris in Musicology.

She taught at the Civica Scuola C. Abbado in Milan until 2018 and has been lecturer for Renaissance and Baroque harp at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica O. Respighi, Latina (Italy) since 2019.

As a harpist, she pursues intensive concert activities and is in demand as a basso continuo player in numerous concerts and recording projects of the most important early music groups on an international level. She performs regularly in duo with Mara Galassi and with her own formation "il Caleidoscopio". In 2018 she released her first solo album on CD: "Unwritten". She is also interested in musical projects that go beyond the narrower boundaries of early music.
