IoT that connects – secure, smart, and future-ready
Research focus areas
The Internet of Things (IoT) represents the convergence of the internet and the physical world. Internet-connected products — smart light bulbs, automated buildings, environmental sensors, or networked industrial machines — deliver convenience, efficiency, and new insights.
Implementing IoT solutions, for example within an SME, requires not only organisational but also numerous technical decisions — from sensor to cloud. Security, data privacy, and interoperability are central considerations. Ideally, open standards are employed to enable seamless integration into existing ecosystems.
A system architecture defines interfaces, transport protocols, data formats, and information models.
Prototyping IoT-enabled hardware brings agile development into practice, while software engineering ensures robust embedded firmware, cloud services, and client applications.
We are pleased to support your innovation projects as a research partner or to advise you in our IoT Lab.
