EAIE Conference 2023 in Rotterdam

From September 26th to 29th, the largest EAIE (European Association for International Education) conference to date took place in Rotterdam. With nearly 7,000 participants from over 2,600 institutions and more than 100 countries, this was an excellent opportunity to further strengthen the relationships with our partner universities and make new contacts.

The opening speakers, Jahkini Bisselink and Hajar Yagkoubi, set an inspiring tone for the conference with their presentation, "Gen Z: How We Choose, Why We Choose and Why Should You Care." As former youth representatives of the United Nations, they have already spoken to thousands of young people and are leading voices in the areas of sustainability, youth and human rights.

The conference offered a rich programme with approximately 240 exhibitors, campus tours, workshops, lectures and community events, providing numerous opportunities to exchange ideas on the latest developments in the field of international education. Current topics such as internationalization at home and sustainability were discussed in numerous presentations and workshops.

For the HLS this conference is not only an opportunity for networking and partner engagement but also a source of many new ideas that we can implement in our internationalization efforts.
