PhD in technical sciences from the Department of Computer Science also at ETH, 1997
Computer Scientist at the Space Sciences Laboratory in UC Berkeley, 1998-2001
Faculty member at FHNW since 2001
Involved in several data science projects, including for the EU: EGSO, HELIO, HESPE, FLARECAST
Involved also in space projects, including RHESSI, Herschel, Euclid, Swisscube
Involved in the management of STIX, the Swiss X-ray telescope on Solar Orbiter
Head of the Institute of 4D Technologies 2008-2017
Head of the Institute for Data Science FHNW since 2018
