The MAKEathon team is part of the Business Artificial Intelligence research field at the FHNW School of Business and is closely connected to its Intelligent Information Systems research focus.

Our applied research combines data-driven, knowledge-based, and language-based AI. We bring together machine learning, explicit domain knowledge, and human expertise to support decision-making, improve business processes, and develop practical AI applications.

The MAKEathon puts this approach into practice. Students, professionals, researchers, and domain experts collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to turn real-world challenges from business and society into AI prototypes.
