Teaching the Radical Catalogue – A Syllabus
Auf Einladung des Critical Media Lab im Institut Experimental Design and Media Cultures (IXDM) ist die Künstlerin Eva Weinmayr vom 11. bis 17. Juli 2023 Artist in Residence im Rahmen von «HGK @ Atelier Mondial».
Eva Weinmayr, die zurzeit in London, München und Göteborg arbeitet, hat zusammen mit Lucie Kolb, Senior Researcher am Institut Experimental Design and Media Cultures (IXDM), mit Teaching the Radical Catalogue - A Syllabus ein Studien- und Forschungsprogramm entwickelt, welches aus intersektioneller und dekolonialer Sicht die vorherrschenden Praktiken der Klassifizierung und der Organisation von Wissen in Bibliotheken des globalen Nordens untersucht.
Während dieser Residency werden Eva und Lucie Ideen entwickeln, wie das Ausstellungsformat des Syllabus und die online Version in eine Buchpublikation umgesetzt werden können.
At the invitation of the Critical Media Lab at the Institute Experimental Design and Media Cultures (IXDM), artist Eva Weinmayr is Artist in Residence at "HGK @ Atelier Mondial" from 11 to 17 July 2023.
Eva Weinmayr, currently working from London, Munich and Gothenburg, has together with Lucie Kolb, Senior Researcher at the Institute Experimental Design and Media Cultures (IXDM), developed Teaching the Radical Catalogue - A Syllabus, a study and research programme that explores the dominant practices of classifying and organising knowledge in libraries of the Global North — from an intersectional decolonial perspective.
During this residency, Eva and Lucie will be developing ways how to translate the exhibited Syllabus and the online version into a book publication.
