Reference management and citation

Reference management softwares make academic and scientific writing simple and efficient.

Would you like to collect, structure, and manage your literature in one place with minimal effort? With a reference management tool like Zotero, your reference work becomes simple, efficient, and time-saving. It helps organise your sources, allows you to create citations and bibliographies with just a few clicks and insert them directly into a word processor (e.g. Microsoft Word). You can also work with collaborative collections of sources in your research team.

You can find more information on Zotero. We also offer introductions every Tuesday. The introductions and our tutorial videos however, are German language only. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at literaturverwaltung@fhnw.ch

We use citations in scientific texts to place our hypotheses or findings into a context of published research. The also help clarify, which part of the text is a result of your own work and which part you have taken from other researchers. If the latter part is not clearly marked, it is considered as plagiarism.
