      Institutional Repository FHNW

IRF supports FHNW members in the digital publication of scientific documents.

      What is IRF?

IRF is the institutional repository of FHNW. It allows Open Access publication of scientific documents and contains metadata and full texts of publications, projects and student theses by FHNW staff and students.

      visit

      Purpose and functions

      • Visibility of the research and education of FHNW by providing publication, project and personal data
      • Instrument for making publications Open Access (see Open Access Policy (PDF, 105 KB) and Open Access website)
      • Evaluation of publication, project and personal data for the purpose of presenting research and education of FHNW

      Submission of new entries

The process of submitting and approving new entries in IRF consists of three steps:

      1. Submission of the metadata and uploading of a full text (PDF) by submitters (authors or delegates)
      2. Quality check and completion of the metadata by editors (FHNW Library staff)
      3. Rights check of the full text by editors live (FHNW Library staff) and approval of the entry. The editors live check whether the publisher with whom a publication was originally published allows secondary publication in IRF.

      Help and support

Information and instructions can be found in the IRF manual (available in German).
If you have any questions about the institutional repository, please contact irf@fhnw.ch or the Power User responsible for your school.

      Interested in a course?

English training courses for submitters are available on request. We are also happy to offer customized courses for FHNW schools or institutes.
