Surface analytics

A comprehensive infrastructure allows us to directly understand the various aspects of construction and processing and to analyse the interaction of material properties and their effects in detail.

Surface analysis using a confocal laser scanning microscope

  • Laser scanning confocal microscopy
  • Scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
  • Tribometer
  • Static and dynamic contact angle measurements
  • Single fibre tensiometer
  • Raman-AFM microscope for Raman-TERS
ATR-IR spectroscopy

ATR infrared spectroscopy makes it possible to analyse the surfaces of opaque materials such as polymer films, paint layers and liquid samples such as organic solutions using infrared spectroscopy.

Some applications and advantages of ATR-FTIR are

  • Identification of polymers
  • Characterisation of polymer composition
  • structural analysis
  • Investigation of functional groups
  • quality control

Laboratory equipment

  • Nicolet iS5 FTIR with an iD7 Diamond/Ge ATR (Thermo Scientific)

Nicolet iS5/iD7(Thermo Scientific)
