An AI-assisted approach to radically simplifying requirements elicitation and the configuration of enablerr, a fully configurable no-code business software platform for orchestrating digital business processes. By combining automated, customer-specific configuration proposals with continuous monitoring and feedback, the approach lays the foundation for faster, smarter, and more scalable customer onboarding.
Testimonial
Configuring highly flexible no-code business-software for new customers is often complex, time consuming, and resource intensive. Even when platforms offer extensive configurability, translating a specific business case into a concrete system setup typically requires expert knowledge and multiple manual iterations.
This project aims to innovate the requirements elicitation and system configuration process of enablerr, a fully configurable no code business software developed by pier4all AG, by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI). AI techniques are used to analyse concise, keyword based customer requirements together with existing data and automatically generate tailored configuration proposals, significantly reducing onboarding time and effort while enabling precise, customer specific solutions.
The project builds on a successful predecessor collaboration between pier4all and FHNW, in which the foundations for an ERP system of the future were developed. Traditional ERP solutions often lack flexibility, openness, and learning capability due to rigid, predefined process models. With enablerr, this limitation was addressed through a novel event based approach and a newly designed database and user interface concept, establishing a flexible and adaptive basis for digital business process orchestration. The current project extends this foundation by adding AI driven intelligence to the configuration process.
A central component of the project is an integrated monitoring and feedback system, which continuously evaluates AI configured processes and supports their ongoing optimisation and adaptation to changing requirements. This enables sustained improvements in both the quality and efficiency of supported business operations.
The project is conducted as a feasibility study in collaboration with FHNW’s Institute of Interactive Technologies (IIT). The study focuses on literature analysis in requirements engineering, user feedback, and monitoring, as well as requirement analysis, evaluation of suitable AI technologies, and concept development. Its results provide a scientifically grounded and practice oriented foundation for the further development of enablerr and support pier4all’s accelerated market expansion.
