Course description

This module introduces students to the foundations of international business, with a strong emphasis on how effective communication supports success in global markets.

Good to know

As part of the "International Business" module, students will join 2–3 synchronous COIL sessions connecting classes in Canada and Switzerland. Working in international teams, participants will explore topics such as globalization, market entry strategies, and cross-cultural communication. The sessions foster intercultural awareness, virtual collaboration, and practical insights into managing international business challenges across borders.

 

Collaborative part

  • Interactive lesson/s in an international/intercultural virtual class-room (synchronous)
  • Assignments for Global virtual teams (GVTs) (synchronous/asynchronous)
 

Conditions FHNW-students

  • Cross-country interaction requires time flexibility.
  • Lessons outside the usual schedule, namely 2-3 sessions due to time difference.
