A real innovation: gas exchange with membrane contactors in microalgae cultivation leads to a significant improvement in growth.

Thanks to funding from the RAPS Foundation, we were able to show that membrane contactors can boost long term microalgae cultivation. A 28% increase in growth rate and max. growth rate of up to 160% were possible. Space-time yield rose by at least 10% compared to conventional cultivation – which was run in parallel for comparison – and all this as a plug & play installation.
