      DESIGNING COMMUNITY

      DESIGNING COMMUNITY

a conference organized by Noödesign, 19 and 20 April 2019 at Espace Niemeyer, in Paris.

At a time when ecological and social urgency makes more than ever the need for a new thinking and making of the common, we will question design on its ability to contribute to the making of its cultural organ, the community, from which psychosomatically springs, the common affect and the territory.

If research in design involves the invention of new processes and circuits of production, the challenge of these meetings points will be to reflect upon the production of our being-in-common as a reflection about the production infrastructures of our technical milieu and their ability to weave and invigorate common affects lead by democratic, cosmopolitic and aesthetic issues.

Scientists, philosophers, designers, artists, architects and entrepreneurs from France and Europe are invited to reflect and formulate together toward a new digital and participative age of the making of community.

Richard Sennett, Bernard Stiegler, Tim Ingold, Pierre-Damien Huyghe, Francesca Musiani, Pelle Ehn, Marielle Macé, Patrick Bouchain, Federica Gatta, Jamie Allen (Institute of Experimental Design and Media Cultures, HGK FHNW), Shintaro Miyazaki (Institute of Experimental Design and Media Cultures, HGK FHNW), Cyril Lage and co-founder of the social french movement of the Yellow Vests, Priscillia Ludosky will be part of this meeting among about thirty speakers.

The School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (Paris); the Institute of Experimental Design and Media Cultures of the HGK FHNW (Basel); the Central Saint Martins, College of Art and Design (Research Department, London); the think tank Theatrum Mundi (London); the OuiShare Company (Paris); The Interdisciplinary and Strategic Research Initiative "Creation, Cognition, Society" - University PSL (Paris); the National School of Architecture of the City and Territories (Marne-la-Vallée); Strate - School of Design (Paris - Singapore); the network Design in Research (Paris), the Gerphau laboratory (Paris), the Agency for the Promotion of Industrial Design (Paris), the think tank Cap Digital (Paris), the media Usbek & Rica (Paris) and Desis Network (Milan) ) allowed the creation of this event.
