Food Culture Lab (FCL)

The FoodCultureLab is an experimental kitchen and provides space for exploring food cultures by way of interdisciplinary projects, applied research, and teaching.

The FoodCultureLab is more than merely a student kitchen. As a teaching and learning space concerned with the future of food culture, and involved in interdisciplinary projects and workshops as well as research, the FoodCultureLab offers students and staff a multi-purpose platform for exploring the interfaces between art and design, on the one hand, and cooking, food, nutrition, sustainability, and diversity, on the other.

At the same time, the FoodCultureLab provides students, teachers, and staff members a place for joint cooking in the tradition of the former art studio kitchens, next to being a place of spontaneous, interdisciplinary encounter where people can meet informally between or after courses, lectures, or seminars.
