Exploratory Data Science – Identifying Patterns, Understanding Relationships, Creating Knowledge
Research focus areas
At the core of our work is the understanding and structuring of complex, often heterogeneous data sets, such as those generated by sensor networks. We develop methods to identify patterns, outliers and correlations that remain hidden in conventional analyses.
Using descriptive statistics and data mining techniques, we create robust foundations for advanced analytics and modelling.
A further focus lies on the visualisation of data to make complex matters intuitively accessible – whether for internal exploration or for communication with stakeholders.
We also focus on the analysis of (social) networks to make relationships and structures within data-driven systems visible and quantifiable.
We invite potential partners to jointly explore data-driven research questions – particularly in the context of early-stage hypothesis generation, exploratory studies and the transparent communication of complex data landscapes.
