Improved Alkaline Phosphatases for Immunoassays

25. November 2022

ELISA-tests are heavily used in the agricultural sector to analyse crops and seeds for various virus antigens. There are two aims in this project, which are processed together with our partners from industry and academia. The first aim is finding and characterising new highly active enzymes for use in the assay. The second aim consists of establishing an innovative and reproducible coupling mechanism between a specific antibody and the selected enzyme, which are used together to report the virus antigen.

To achieve these goals we use site-directed mutagenesis of the enzymes, enzyme expression and purification and various enzyme activity tests.
