Winner of the NanoImage Award 2023, Microspheres were prepared from styrene via emulsion polymerisation by students in the practical training in Polymers at HLS FHNW. The spheres are forming hexagonal ordered assemblies when dried on the sample holder. The image was taken with an electron microscope. The spheres are originally white, the image was coloured using Adobe Photoshop.
