      Live Paper

      The FHNW Institute of Interactive Technologies develops a new generation of interfaces that transform traditional surfaces like tables into interactive environments.

      Technologies

      3D tracking, C++, Web technologies

      Goals

      Realizing interactive interfaces on traditional surfaces like tables or paper

      Background

      The bank Hypothekarbank Lenzburg would like to add the newest possibilities of technology to their financial advisory services. Technical tools like tablets, laptops or screens often impair the trust-building communication between customer and advisor. Following the paradigm of “Calm Computing” the technology of Live Paper is designed to step back to favour human interaction.

      Result

      The project team has developed a mixed reality framework with 4K projection and precise object tracking. It allows the user to manipulate the content that is projected on the tabletop through the precise object tracking with touch input, with physical tokens or other input tools.
