Interface Between People, Technology, and the Environment
At the FHNW School of Engineering and Environment, we are redefining the interface between technology and the environment. Building on our established expertise, we address the challenges of the future with a clear focus on collaboration.
Development of the School
In response to challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, and the transformation of energy systems, we are expanding our focus to include the field of environment. At the same time, we continue to build on our proven areas of expertise while looking ahead – placing strong emphasis on interdisciplinarity and collaboration in education and research with industry partners, public authorities, NGOs, and other societal stakeholders.
Knowledge Transfer Between Education, Research, and Practice
At our school, application-oriented research forms the bridge between education and practice. Student projects are deliberately carried out in collaboration with partners from industry, public institutions, and the social sector. This approach ensures that current real-world challenges are directly integrated into teaching and continuing education, while partners benefit from fresh ideas, scientific support, and state-of-the-art infrastructure.
This dynamic interaction between education, research, and practice strengthens both innovation and expertise.
