About the Data Science & Artificial Intelligence degree programme

Why study this?

As a graduate of the DS&AI in the study track Sport, you are the expert in sports analytics. You leverage sports data and performance metrics to help elite athletes optimise their performance or refine game strategies. You may develop training plans for amateur sports in close collaboration with sports scientists, or work with doctors and physiotherapists to revolutionise rehabilitation processes for injured individuals.

Whatever field you choose, your skills help the world of sport break new ground through data.

Possible fields of application include game analysis, training management, sports management and sports economics.

Where Your Degree Can Take You

Sports Data Analyst

Use data to enhance team performance, strategy and decision-making by analysing player performance, game tactics and opponents’ weaknesses.

Rehabilitation Data Analyst

Support physiotherapy through data analysis to optimise rehabilitation programmes for individual patients.

Business Strategy Analyst

You examine and analyse market trends, competitive landscapes and organisational performance to guide long-term strategy and decision-making for companies in the sports sector.

Sport Data Engineer

You develop and maintain the systems that manage and process the vast amounts of data used in sports analytics.

Data-Driven Sports Journalist

You use data-driven storytelling and visual information design to identify and tell the most compelling stories from the world of sport.

Structure and programme contents

This study track is fully integrated into the Data Science & AI degree programme: You acquire in-depth competencies in machine learning and data analytics while specialising directly in the sports sector. You use data to optimise performance, analyse wearable technologies and deliver strategic insights for the management of clubs and associations. Close collaboration with professionals from medicine, engineering and psychology further sharpens your interdisciplinary profile.

You design your studies with maximum flexibility: Choose between classic modules or our flexible “Open Learning” format, where you determine your place and pace of learning – always supported by our coaches.
