      Smart Factory Lab FHNW

Smart Factory and Digital Twin architectures and technologies based on a real production environment.

      Our offer

The Smart Factory Laboratory is used for training and further education as well as the realisation of projects in the field of applied research and development with industrial partners. The laboratory is equipped with the latest technologies and architectures for intelligent production. These can be explained and demonstrated to interested companies.

      Opportunities

      Smart Factory Architektur

      Data analytics – AI applications

Data analyses can be carried out using various tools based on the data collected in real time in the Smart Factory data lake. This can also be done using AI applications and AI tools. Different levels of maturity can be realised in relation to Smart Factory objectives (observing, predictive, preventive, prescriptive).

      Digital twins

Digital twins with different application scenarios can be developed, created and tested on the basis of the Smart Factory architecture. The structure (architecture) of a digital twin can also be demonstrated.

IoT and M2M – Machine to Machine Communication

The existing infrastructure allows the establishment of Industry 4.0 communications with applications in the Internet of Things IoT area. Existing protocols include MQTT (Message Query Telemetry Transport) and LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) as well as classic WLAN networks. An expansion with a 5G island network is planned.
