Vision Science and Optometry Lab FHNW

Clinical research questions on healthy eyes and optimal vision are answered in the Vision Science and Optometry Lab.

Our offer

Our laboratory offers a wide range of state-of-the-art clinical optometric examination equipment. We design, conduct and analyze clinical optometric studies on various topics, including: 

  • Binocular vision, refraction, myopia 
  • Contact lenses 
  • Anterior and posterior segment of the eye  
  • Visual perception, eye movements, eye tracking 
  • Future Health, Aging 

We are also active in the development and testing of optometric and ophthalmologic measurement techniques and instruments.

  • Complete clinical examination units with phoropter, video slit lamp and digital eye chart 
  • Static and dynamic binocular vision assessment 
  • Retinal photography, OCT, perimetry 
  • Evaluation of the tear film and Meibomian glands 
  • Corneal thickness measurement 
  • Liquid jet anesthesiometer 
  • VR/XR setup with integrated eye tracking 
  • High-speed and infrared camera
