Dr. Kavita Philip will give the closing lecture for the fall semester of ECAM Graduate School's public programme.
Kavita Philip holds the President’s Excellence Chair in Network Cultures at the University of British Columbia. With a background in physics, she turned to Science and Technology Studies and developed research and pedagogical curricula that extend classical humanities scholarship to STS, eco-criticism, speculative fiction and media studies. She has published widely on technoscience and notions of nature and civilization, with a focus on race and postcolonial relationships, as well as intellectual property. Her research into genealogies of colonialism and neoliberalism acknowledges the intertwined material and social contexts of cultural production.
