      FHNW School of Education

      The teacher training institution for the north-western Switzerland educational area.

      The FHNW School of Education ranks amongst Switzerland's leading teacher education institutions. Through its educational programme and its vocationally oriented research activities focused on teaching, education and systems, it maintains and develops the educational systems deployed in the north-west of Switzerland. With over 3000 students attending its regular courses of study and in excess of 30,000 people attending its continuing education programmes, the School is one of the largest of its kind in German-speaking Switzerland.

      Comprehensive teacher education, Continuing education, counseling and research

      The FHNW School of Education provides end-to-end teacher education at all levels from primary through to upper secondary education and offers education in special-needs education and psychology. The studies are modular and allow a high degree of individualisation and flexibility.

      The FHNW School of Education features an all-encompassing portfolio in the realm of professional development and counselling at all levels, plus vocationally oriented research activities focused on teaching, education and systems.

      With excellent national and international links, the FHNW School of Education forges close partnerships with universities, teacher training institutions and other institutions.
      At a regional level, it is well established at its locations in Cantons Aargau, Basel Landschaft, Basel Stadt and Solothurn.

      European Charter for Researchers

      School of Education participates in implementing the principles of the Charter and Code of Conduct through the EU's Human Resources Strategy for Researchers initiative. By underscoring the importance of research, it ensures excellence in the acquisition and certifying of staff, and thus in teaching and research.
