Despite restrictions and downturn, the Swiss-Asian MBA has strived to still bring to its students the much-anticipated residential week.
The virtual residential week kicked off in Malaysia with lectures at the Putra Business School (PBS) in Kuala Lumpur. The collaboration between PBS and FHNW School of Business saw experts from the financial and economic sectors taking centre stage.
Hazurin Harun shared insights on financing in Malaysia, with details on the various types of financing available. He also shared a case study of the turnaround strategy employed by Symphony Life Berhad to overcome the financial challenges.
He concluded, "During difficult times the government will always introduce measures to help the market financially. You need to be aware of what is available out there for utilisation. In all cases your business needs to be legitimate and up to date with its regulatory submissions in order to be eligible for assistance."
Prof. Datuk Dr. John Anthony Xavier took participants through the macro and micro economy of Malaysia. Dr. John had this to say, "While there are currently 750 projects in the pipeline as to date with investments valued at RM55 billion in the manufacturing and services sectors under MIDA's purview, there is room still to further liberalise the services regulations in Malaysia."
