Preparation
Should I study business?
This online assessment (in German) gives you an impression of how well your skills and personality traits match studying at the FHNW School of Business. The assessment consists of four modules and can be paused after any module. If you complete all modules, the test takes approximately two hours.
Are there perparatory courses to prepare for my studies?
If you feel insecure in one or more core subjects or if you passed your commercial vocational baccalaureate some time ago, you can take a preparatory course before you start your studies in the autumn semester.

Can I apply for grants and loans?
Your canton of residence is responsible for scholarships and interest-free loans. Due to the different cantonal criteria, the contributions vary depending on the canton and are granted or rejected according to different criteria. Scholarship applications must be submitted in writing to the cantonal scholarship office.
Can I apply for disadvantage compensation?
If you have any questions regarding adjustment measures to compensate for disability-related disadvantages, please contact the relevant office.
Can I complete the military training or a longer civilian service assignment during my studies?
Military schools (basic military training centre, NCO school and officer candidate school) and extended civilian service cannot be completed smoothly without interrupting your studies. The FHNW therefore strongly advises you to already complete basic military training or basic civilian service training before you start studying.
Do I need a notbook for my studies?
To pursue your studies, you will need a notebook or a tablet with keyboard, integrated camera, and microphone. Further information can be found here:
