Dharmesh, originally from India, began his career in Germany. He developed a strong passion for human resource development which led him to pursue a Master of Science in International Management at FHNW University of Applied Sciences

The programme gave him the academic foundation and international exposure he needed to pivot his career. During his studies, he was offered a position at Accenture AG, where he now works in human capital consulting — helping organizations bridge the gap between talent and technology.
Why did you choose this master’s programme?
I chose this programme because it offers a wide variety of modules, allowing you to tailor the curriculum to your interests. One of the highlights is the opportunity to participate in international electives, which not only expose you to state-of-the-art topics such as entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainability—but also many others. These experiences offer valuable cross-cultural and multidisciplinary perspectives and help you build a global network with fellow students and professionals from different countries.
What did you enjoy most during your studies?
I really enjoyed that the studies were not just theoretical but strongly practice-oriented. While the assignments were challenging, they gave me the chance to think critically and collaborate closely with other international students. We were able to share our knowledge and professional experiences, and most importantly, build lifelong relationships—not just with fellow students, but also with the highly knowledgeable and supportive professors. The faculty are genuinely passionate about sharing their expertise and experience, which made learning both enriching and inspiring.
How has the master’s programme helped your career?
From the very beginning of my studies, I was clear about my intention to change careers and was vocal about my interests. I shared this with my professors, who were incredibly supportive—they guided me in selecting assignment topics and my master’s thesis so I could gain deeper insights into my future field. I also reached out to FHNW Career Services, who provided valuable counselling to help me navigate my goals, craft a compelling story for recruiters, and prepare for job applications. I took part in job fairs and other recruitment events organized by FHNW, and these opportunities ultimately led me to my current role.
What advice would you give to future students considering this programme?
Don’t hold yourself back. Make the most of the various platforms and resources offered by FHNW. I highly recommend doing at least one international elective—it’s a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn, and broaden your perspective. Also, speak openly with your professors about your future goals. They’re approachable and experienced, and building those relationships can make a big difference in your journey.
