Are you interested in studying at the FHNW Academy of Music Basel?
The application window for the admission procedure is open from 15 December to 15 February, respectively until 31 January for the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

To register for the admission process incl. the entrance exam at the Academy of Music, please note the following aspects:
Create a SWITCH edu-ID
At the beginning of the registration process, you need to create a SWITCH edu-ID. What is a SWITCH edu-ID?
Various registrations
If you are registering for more than one Major, an additional application must be completed. Your personal data will remain on file. The institutes will determine if the registration fee has to be paid more than once.
Submission
Along with the registration, it is mandatory to submit the following documents:
- A video recording incl. the list of works (depending on the study course)
- A portrait photo
- A CV incl. a motivational letter/personal statement

Procedure

Language
Generally, the entrance exam will be held in German and English. We recommend having basic German language skills at the entrance exam.
Jury
The jury consists of all the lecturers of the respective major and the directional board.
Announcement of the results
The results will be communicated by email through the Students Administration Office.
Those who meet the admission criteria can register for the entrance exam. The details of the entrance exams, including language requirements, are specified in the respective study regulations for all degree programmes and their majors. Details of the specific examination requirements (e.g. repertoire, creating videos) can be found in the degree programmes.
Registration fee: CHF 200
Semester fee: 700 CHF for Swiss citizens and students with legal place of residence* in Switzerland | 1000 CHF for students from EU-/EFTA-countries | 1250 CHF for students from third countries
*Having a residence for educational reasons in Switzerland does not consitute a residence under civil law.
