The biomass chemistry laboratory of the Institute of Bioenergy and Resource Efficiency offers you optimal equipment for a variety of biomass experiments and their analysis.

Our Offer

The biomass chemistry laboratory offers a safe infrastructure for carrying out chemical experiments and syntheses and analysing their components.

The chemistry laboratory is the interface for many projects and therefore offers you a very broad spectrum of possibilities. From plastics in fertilisers and PAH analyses in biochar to the production of hydrochar from sewage sludge, the biomass chemistry laboratory supports you with your concerns.

  • Three laboratory fume hoods and two standing fume hoods and sufficient workspace 
  • HTC autoclave (240 °C, 35 bar) 
  • ED-XRF for solids 
  • GC-FID&MS 
  • Macro-TGA for approx. 1.5 g sample material 
  • CHNS analysis for solids 
  • TIC/TOC analysis for solids 
  • Digital microscopes

  • Cascade electroplating system with 10 litre baths (Ni, Cu, Zn)
