Development of Lasers and Optical Systems Lab FHNW

We develop ultrafast lasers (fs pulses) and photonic systems for applications in biomedicine, micromaterial processing and optical communication.

      Our offer

We develop and implement application-specific, customised ultrafast lasers and optical systems. Optimised laser properties that are not commercially available enable advances in application performance and potential. With our lasers, we develop state-of-the-art optical measurement and imaging systems, including ultra-high resolution optical coherence tomography and optical tweezers, to name but a few.

Our research is interdisciplinary and therefore we are always looking for motivated and talented students of photonics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and systems engineering as well as interested partners from industry and science for challenging projects.
