Virtual Exchange, FHNW School of Business

School of Business

Gain international experience without travelling

Header.png

Many reasons can prevent students from going abroad for a whole semester, such as family obligations, working while studying, travel restrictions as experienced with the Covid-19 pandemic, or concerns about environmental issues. Virtual Exchange enhances opportunities to gain international experience without travelling.

The FHNW School of Business offers courses that are open to students from different programmes at the School of Business, for incoming students and for students studying at a partner university of the School of Business. The courses mainly cover intercultural aspects of a business topic and range from intensive programmes (several days) to weekly semester courses. The programmes aim to integrate international collaboration of students and faculty from different universities.

Participants and Fees

The attendance of Virtual Exchange courses is free for students from the School of Business, for incoming students and for students studying at a partner university of the School of Business.

Likewise, students from the School of Business are encouraged to attend Virtual Exchange courses from partner universities. Please check our partner universities’ websites for any information on respective offers; potential fees may incur.

Course Mode

Virtual Exchange courses at the FHNW School of Business are offered as fully online courses or blended learning courses:

  • Fully online courses include synchronous and asynchronous parts. The courses allow students from all over the globe to meet in virtual rooms, exchange ideas and learn from each other.
  • Blended courses include online parts as well as parts offered on an FHNW campus in Switzerland and on a campus of one or more partner universities abroad. Blended courses may include lecturer or student mobility. For detailed information, see course offer.

Before registration: Please note the information on dates and time difference (synchronous events) in each module description. Overlapping dates of different modules are possible.
