The Swiss–Africa Cybersecurity Community gathered for its final project event, celebrating achievements and mapping out the path forward.
Professor Bettina Schneider opened the event with a warm welcome, noting that the project, which ran from September 2024 to March 2026, is not ending but evolving into an operational community. She invoked the Malian proverb “One finger cannot lift a stone”, emphasising that people are stronger when collaborating across borders.
Research Associate Franka Ebai presented the project’s milestones and vision for the future. The initiative, built through partnerships in Switzerland and Cameroon, Rwanda, Nigeria, and Ethiopia, has successfully launched a digital platform to support ongoing cooperation and knowledge sharing.
Beyond the platform, the Community has organised multiple workshops across partner countries and has been featured on two podcasts, expanding its reach and influence. These activities have reinforced professional networks and built capacity among stakeholders.
Looking ahead, numerous events are already planned for the remainder of 2026 and throughout 2027, ensuring that the momentum of the past years continues and that collaborative efforts against emerging cybersecurity threats remain strong.
