Profile
Biography
Prof. Dr. Susanne Suter is an expert in the field of computer science, data science and artificial intelligence (AI) at the interface of medical technology and biology - in applied research as well as in teaching in data science. She has developed many projects for the automated analysis of radiographic images (MRI, CT, ultrasound, OCT, X-ray) - especially in the field of semantic segmentation and object recognition using deep learning and classical image processing. Other projects are in the field of signal data processing of vital parameters (stream processing and wearables) and clinical studies. She has also pioneered compression-domain GPU-based volume rendering for real-time visualization of large 3D image datasets by integrating dimensionality reduction techniques for multi-resolution and multi-scale visualization. She is also interested in using explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) methods in projects to visualize how decisions are made by models.
