Developing smart cycles for a sustainable economy.

Factsheet

Degree
Bachelor of Science FHNW in Energy and Environmental Technology

This field of study provides you with the skills to improve the sustainability performance of organizations, products and processes in such a way that the needs of current and future stakeholders can be optimally satisfied.

Circular Economy and Resource Management is part of the Energy and Environmental Technology undergraduate programme. When you register, you choose the study field, but you can still change this up to the end of the third semester or you can combine modules individually.

What are the circular economy and resource management?

In order to make the economy fit for the future, we need to move away from linear patterns of thought and action (“take-make-waste”). The concepts of the circular economy and resource management correspond to a new mindset in that they focus on a more sustainable and efficient use of resources.

In a circular economy, the life cycle of products and materials is extended and they are designed and used in such a way that they can ultimately be reused, repaired or recycled. Intelligent resource management prevents excessive consumption of resources and promotes more sustainable use.
