Study at the interface between nature, technology, medicine and the environment as part of Europe’s largest life sciences centre.

Would you like to work on solutions to the big issues of our time in fields such as health, medicine, the environment and digitalisation? At the FHNW School of Life Sciences, you will be part of one of the largest life sciences centres in Europe, combining natural sciences, technology, medicine and the environment. You will contribute to conserving resources, enabling innovation and helping people live healthier lives.

Practical, networked and future-oriented

With us you'll be at the heart of things from day one. You'll research new drugs to fight cancer, develop methods for early detection of diseases, print implants using 3D technology, produce new chemical substances, visualise big data and work on providing clean water. Through close cooperation with industry you will be involved in real-world projects and establish valuable contacts, benefitting you not only during your studies but also later when you start your career.

Bachelor in Life Sciences

Eight fields of study prepare you optimally for professional life and give you access to state-of-the-art technologies. Our bachelor's degree programmes are taught in German.

International experience and intercultural skills are becoming increasingly important. The FHNW School of Life Sciences has a strong international network, promotes international exchange and welcomes a diverse student body: 14 percent of our students come from abroad.

The FHNW Campus Muttenz combines excellent education with an attractive location: with a view over Basel, direct proximity to the train station and around 3 700 students from different faculties, you will encounter a vibrant environment where ideas, networks – and your future are born.
