About the institute

The Institute for Medical Engineering and Medical Informatics (IM2) develops patient-centred medical technologies such as devices, implants and treatment methods, and performs research into data processing, analysis and communication.

We collaborate with a wide range of industrial, medical, and research organisations, working from concept through to functional models and prototypes.

Digital transformation, cost pressure, demographic change and the need for high-quality patient care are all shaping the healthcare industry, where developments in medical engineering and medical IT are driving innovation.
