Digital Life Sciences, FHNW School of Life Sciences

Whether in personalised medicine, laboratory automation or environmental monitoring – digitalisation drives life sciences. In our degree programmes, you will learn to combine scientific methods with digital skills: collecting and evaluating data, harnessing digital tools to address specific targets and developing innovative solutions to current real-world issues.

What you will learn

  • Data literacy: Collect, structure and evaluate data – from lab results to big data
  • Programming & automation: Python or R and the use of digital tools in the lab
  • Modelling & simulation: Virtually map and understand complex biological systems
  • Digital health & bioinformatics: Explore interfaces between IT, medicine and wider life science fields
  • Laboratory 4.0: Work in networked, automated laboratory environments
