Systems for processing and managing clinical data and integration with clinical information systems
Modern hospitals have a large number of networked information processing systems constantly exchanging data. A huge quantity of data generated by patient treatments is stored and linked in these systems, which use medical-specific protocols such as DICOM for imaging system data transmission and HL7 to exchange status messages and lab results.
We have run numerous projects connecting our networks with hospital IT systems and integrating data to allow mobile information access. The institute also has its own multi-component hospital IT infrastructure.
Our research group is part of the Institute for Medical Engineering and Medical Informatics, a leading player in medtech.
